USA Vein Clinics Service List

Treatments

  • Treatment Of Venous Insufficiency, Varicose Veins & Ulcers

    • If you have been told that you require treatment for venous insufficiency, continue reading, because virtually no one needs surgery anymore.

You may also want to take a look at our FAQs which will answer some common questions about vein disease and its treatment.

    • When treatments are performed properly

(i.e. find the root of the problem with an ultrasound and eliminate it at the source), you should get long-lasting results - your varicose veins and your symptoms of venous insufficiency should disappear permanently.

    • USA Vein Clinics achieves its high success rate in varicose vein treatments by not taking shortcuts.

At USA Vein Clinics, you will be seen by one of our highly skilled and caring physicians who will develop a custom tailored vein treatment plan just for you. The first thing we do when making a diagnosis of venous insufficiency is map out your network of veins using diagnostic ultrasound.

    • Then using a systematic approach, we start treating your disease by eliminating the source of the problem.

Our physicians employ lasers, a varicose vein innovation that began rapidly rising in popularity around the world in about 2002. We use ultrasound at every visit to give us a clear picture of which vein we need to treat.

  • How EVLT Works

    • Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) is an innovative FDA approved non-surgical treatment for the permanent elimination of the superficial venous insufficiency

which is a typical cause of large varicose veins, leg swelling, heavines, cramps, brownish skin discoloration, and non-healing wounds. This technique has been used for almost a decade and since 2005 it is considered to be the Gold Standard for the elimination of venous insufficiency and large varicose veins.

    • It involves a precise insertion of a very thin (less than one millimeter) laser fiber into the diseased veins under real-time ulstrasound guideness

followed by an application of laser energy to heat and close the malfunctioning veins, which is called vein closure. Other healthy veins take over normal blood flow in the leg immediately. Over time, the treated veins are absorbed by the body.

    • Depending on the number of diseased veins more than one procedure may be required.

EVLT procedure is done in our offices, and it usually takes less than 15 minutes from the start of the procedure until it is completed. To prevent discomfort during the procedure we use a local anesthesia similarly to the one used in dental office. Because of its minimally-invasive nature, EVLT procedure will not interrupt your normal daily routine. You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately after EVLT treatment and even go back to work.

    • USA Vein Clinics are experts in EVLT treatment.

We master this gold standard in the vein care since 2005 and helped more than 10,000 of patients across the United States.

  • EVLT Procedure - The Process

    • In preparation for the EVLT procedure, an ultrasound machine is used to examine and map out the shape and size of the veins in your legs.

This venous map allows our ultrasonographers and physicians to accurately locate the unhealthy veins that need to be treated. Our physicians will also provide you with a personalized treatment plan that will include the estimated number of treatments that your leg may require.

    • During the EVLT procedure, you are awake and your leg is numbed with a local anesthetic.

A small puncture is made in the leg near the location of the unhealthy vein. A thin fiber-optic probe is inserted through a needle into the vein using ultrasound guidance.

    • A highly concentrated beam of light from the laser heats the vein walls which makes them shrink.

This causes the unhealthy vein to collapse. The precision of the laser allows the physician to target the vein without affecting the surrounding tissue. Once the vein is sealed closed, it slowly disintegrates while being absorbed by the surrounding soft tissues. The other healthy veins in your leg will then take over the normal blood flow toward the heart.

  • High Success & Low Cost

    • Clinical studies have shown up to a 98% success rate

    • You can immediately resume your normal daily activities

    • Costs are currently covered by Medicare and most insurance providers up to 100%

  • The "Beyond Laser" Method - Non Thermal Vein Ablation

    • Pioneered in the USA, this method sees effective results with many positive benefits.

Unlike ELVT, the method is non thermal (without heat), so there is no possibility for nerve damage. Aside from a very small prick in the skin to insert a rotating catheter, there is no pain and very minimal patient discomfort. As the rotating catheter is pulled, the sclerosant drug is sprayed effectively and the defective vein will collapse from the solution. This is the most high end treatment available and already has high patient comfort and acceptance.

    • This new device is actually a hybrid treatment utilizing endovenous treatment (inside the vein), as is done with the radiofrequency and laser devices, and chemical ablation.

It also employs a new approach, that of mechanical ablation, hence the term mechanochemical ablation.

  • Clarivein Procedure - The Process

    • The Clarivein catheter is inserted into the vein with ultrasound guidance.

After words a wire is deployed at the tip of the motorized catheter. When it's withdrawn from the vein, the motor is activated and the chemical sclerosant is injected into the vein where the mechanical spinning is occurring. This process disrupts the lining of the vein and the result is rapid closure of the treated vein. Like all available treatments, the vein disappears over time.

    • Clarivein is the next step in the evolution of venous insufficiency treatments!

  • Advantages of Clarivein

    Mechanochemical Ablation.

    • Minimal discomfort and no need for local anesthesia

    • No need for tumescent anesthesia that requires multiple injections of fluid along the course of the treated vein

    • Short procedure time

    • No chance of injury to adjacent nerves

  • Sclerotherpy Procedure

    • Telangiectasias are flat red vessels that are smaller than 1mm in diameter.

Reticular veins appear purple in color and are 2 to 4mm in diameter. Large varicose veins are not treated by sclerotherapy. A tiny needle is used to administer a series of injections that contain small amounts of a sterile solution (usually a salt solution) into the vein. Because the needle is so small, patients do not need any anesthesia and usually feel little pain. In order to ensure precise injections, ultrasound technology is also often used.

    • The injected solution irritates the inner lining of the vein and causes the vein to swell and seal shut.

Over time, the vein will gradually turn into scar tissue and disappear as it is reabsorbed into the surrounding local tissue. The other healthy veins in your leg will then take over the normal blood flow toward the heart.

    • Although the same vein may require multiple injections over time, this injection procedure for each session can be performed in our clinic in less than 30 minutes.

The total number of veins treated during one session will depend on the size and location of the veins as well as the overall medical health of the patient. Any follow up sessions will be scheduled at least four weeks apart so that the results of the previous treatment can be accurately evaluated.

    • After treatment, you will wear compression stockings for several days while you are free to resume your normal daily activities.

While walking is highly encouraged to prevent the formation of blood clots, the following should be avoided for a few days after the treatment: aerobic activity, hot baths, and excessive exposure to the sun.

    • Clinical studies have shown an overall success rate of 50 to 80% when sclerotherapy is used to treat varicose and spider veins.

Sclerotherapy is fully approved by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration).
